In short
Stadsspeurders is made for children, so we collect as little as possible. You don’t need to create an account. Your children’s names and your location stay on your own phone.
In the app
- Names and progress of your team are stored by the app only locally on your phone. They are not sent to us.
- Location is used by the app only while you play, to calculate the distance to the next place. This happens on your phone; the location is not sent to our server. The map is shown with Apple Maps, for which Apple has its own terms.
- Photos from photo tasks (the scrapbook) are stored by the app only on your phone, in the scrapbook and as a copy in the Photos app. They are not sent to us. The app asks for access to the camera and for permission to add photos to Photos; the app cannot read your photo library.
- Microphone and motion is used by the app only for certain tasks: the microphone measures how loud it is (whispering) and the motion sensor and step counter measure whether you are standing still or walking. Nothing is recorded, stored or sent to us. You can turn this on or off in the welcome tour or later in Settings; without permission a parent can skip the task.
- Anonymous usage statistics we do send: a random device ID (no name, no email address), which tour and place, the level of the task, the number of wrong attempts, the chosen language and timestamps. This shows us where families get stuck or drop out, so we can improve the tours. The ID is not linked to a person.
On this website
- Waiting list: if you sign up, we store your email address (and the city you enter) to let you know when the app is in the App Store. We don’t use the address for anything else.
- We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
